Starting out the day at the Bear Lake Trail Head:
On our way to Lake Helene, a 6 mile hike (round trip) and a 1250 foot climb! There were several beautiful lakes, a stream and small waterfalls along the way:
However, one of the most exciting parts of
the hike was all the snow! 
The girls could not resist a . . .
 
We walked across large patches of snow
along the trail: 
Which sometimes made it difficult to find
the trail! 
After crossing a stream (Elizabeth fell in) we made it to Lake Helene! Daddy could not
wait to go in to the frigid water:
"This hurts!"
Near the lake we saw our first Marmot:
We had a nice picnic lunch at this other lake:
It was a beautiful day, a fun hike, and we
had a great time! |
