Day Thirteen
Tuesday, July 18th, 2017
For our final day of adventure we headed up to the highest point (4,784 feet above sea level) in the state of Georgia. It is located in northeast Georgia and is part of the Blue Ridge Mountain chain of the Appalachian Mountain range. On clear days, the view from the top of the mountain allows you to see four states, including Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
We found the sign for Brasstown Bald:

We decide to do a portion of the Arkaquah Trail first:
Rachel stopped for some tree climbing along the trail:
The trail was mostly surrounded by brush:
We made it to a small view:
We decided to head back and find the mountain trail:
The trail was paved but it was an uphill climb the entire way:
We made it to the top!

After enjoying the views we went to an exhibit up at the top of the mountain:
It was time for lunch so we decided to head back down the mountain. The girls heard about a free bus ride down the mountain and so we had a quick ride back and enjoyed a picnic lunch with a great view:
Luna chased some bees and got her first lesson on bee stings. She didn't like it but she was fine.
We truly had an fun-filled action-packed family vacation!
