Morning Mile
Wednesday March 27, 2019
Rachel Ran 100 miles!
Every morning Rachel and mom go to "morning mile" a before school option at the elementary school. Rachel has been going to morning mile since kindergarten. This year she was the first one in the school to receive her 100 mile charm.
The school recognizes this achievement during the school morning announcements broadcast throughout the school over a closed circuit television.
The assistant Principle presented Rachel with her 100 mile charm:
Thanks mom for coming to morning mile and running every morning!
Mom was actually nominated by coach Baldwin for Volunteer of the year for her 5 years of service assisting with morning mile. She was one of two selected volunteers of the year from our school. They were recognized nd recieved their awards at a fancy luncheon at the Wyndham Garden Hotel with over 300 people in attendance including all the other volunteers awarded around the county and many other community leaders:
Mom was very surprised when the entertainment for the event was the 5th grade ukulele ensemble from our school. Rachel is in the 4th grade ukulele ensemble so she wasn't there, but Patricia was!:
Mom said they played very well and she enjoyed the meal and the ceremony. Congratulations Mom!
