Week Four Day Five Trail Adventure: Bell Ridge Long Leaf Wildlife Conservation Area - Sandhill Trail.
First time here. Beautiful day for this trail. Nice and cool weather.

Lizzy thought it was a little chilly so she brought a little blanket . . . Florida girl!
Beautiful!
A caterpillar with pretty red feet.
Rachel had a school meeting on her phone while we hiked.
Lizzy contemplating the complexities of life with a blade of grass.
A camouflaged grasshopper.

He's fierce looking, but...
He is a die hard Gator Fan!

Love these! What are they?
Unique!

Looking for a gopher tortoise. We found a hiding place.
Now we are in hunting mode:
Superhero power - tortoise location tracking.

Even Luna was on the hunt
She found it!! Good job Luna!

It happens to be just the shell, but we were still proud of Luna's tracking ability.

We came to a dead end. No problem, onward to search for a live tortoise!

No tortoise, but we had a very nice hike. Note: this is not a hike for a hot sunny Florida day. We lucked out with a cool overcast day.

This was a great trail for an overcast day given there was virtually no shade.
