Week Three Day Two Trail Adventure: Susan Wright Trail at Prairie Creek Preserve:
Our first time here. Everyone is relatively happy:

Getting happier by the minute! Ready, set, hike!

Trail head marked well, let's see how we do...
Rachel found a tuft of hair. Any guesses on what animal this came from?

A closer look. Anyone have a good guess on the source?
Cool looking little cone-like flowers:
Yellow milkwort:
Looking out for any wildlife lurking in the swamp sink:
This little gem was hidden under the broad leaves but it didn't get past Rachel!
Beautiful portion of the trail. We spent the first half a little more exposed in the heat with only some cover. We entered here into the much cooler shade:
Some gems along the way:

The trail was wide and clear the whole way. Despite all this we somehow couldn't quite figure out the shorter loop (3.2 miles). So we went out and back in 2.2 miles. Perhaps we will come back and try again another time.
The end 🐕😊😴 and me 🙋♀️.
Another great adventure!
