Vacation 2013 Part Three (Days 9-12)

Day Nine
Garden Of The Gods in Herod, Illinois
A rainy day but we made the most of it:

Mommy out on a ledge . . .  no worries she's wearing her super-hero cape!:
We can fly, we can fly, we can . . .
I don't think these things are working:

Day Ten
Fall Creek Falls State Park in Pikeville, TN
Our first family camping experience:
"This is gonna be great!"

Preparing for the hike to the waterfalls:
Our first waterfall at Fall Creek Falls:
More hiking:

"Thanks Daddy."
More beautiful waterfalls:
Back to camp:
Gotta have Smores!:
Delicious!

Day Eleven
Piney Creek Falls at Fall Creek Falls State Park
Who wants to go on another hike?
"We do, we do!"
We needed some help through this treacherous terrain.

The waterfall was well worth the effort:

The rock that looked the a giant's foot was a fun find along the trail:
We also loved crossing the suspension bridges:
 A pretty scene below us:
Time to go back to the bottom of the other falls from yesterday for some swimming:

The hike wasn't too bad with daddy's help:

We made it:

Day Twelve
Cloudland Canyon State Park in Rising Fawn, Georgia
A rainy day did not stop us today:
 A view of the canyon:
Since it was the 4th of July mom got us a special treat:
 Pop Rocks!

Off to the waterfall.  A glimpse of the waterfall along the hiking trail:
 Waterfall number one:
Another hike to the second waterfall:

Although the rain did not stop us up to this point, the following day was just too rainy for hiking so we headed on home.  Even though we were back home, we took the girls to the Natural History Museum the next day for one last vacation day.

We truly had another amazing, action-packed and fun-filled family vacation!
