Our Colorado Vacation

Vacation Day Three:

The start of another great day.  We hiked 3.6 miles at Lumpy Ridge Trail head up to Gem lake. We kept the hike fun by giving each  of us a title. Mommy was the "Queen of Gem  Lake": Daddy was the "King Of Gem Lake":  Elizabeth the "Princess of Gem Lake":  Rachel was the "Jester of Gem Lake"  The Jester kept us entertained with knock  knock jokes! The "Royal" Family: We climbed 1000 feet to an elevation of 8830  feet and arrived at Gem Lake: After many days of rain the lake was a bit muddy. The climbing continued as we explored the  rocks at Gem lake:   At the top overlooking Gem Lake Later that day . . .  Grandma Beck and Aunt Liwana drove to  Loveland, CO and we met them at their hotel.   We visited for several hours.  We played tickle  Games: We had a fun visit with Grandma Beck: It was great to meet our Great Aunt Liwana!: Just before we left Aunt Alenae and 3 of her  children (Becca, Alex, and Jessie) arrived  (they are staying at a campsite) and will join  us on our hike tomorrow. After our visit we had to stop at Walmart to buy  a new pair of sneakers for Elizabeth because she  wore out her sneakers halfway through our hike  today. Her big toe was practically sticking out!
