Our Family Vacation

Day 14 - 17

We went to church in a small branch in Somerset, KY and then stopped at

Daniel Boone National Forest - Natural Arch Scenic Area:

We saw the arch in the distance
And we decided to make out way up to see it up close:
Daddy helped us climb up to the arch:
We passed through to the other side:
After exploring around the arch we headed off to our campgrounds in:

Big South Fork National River and Recreational Area located in TN and Kentucky.
We found a visitor at the visitors center:
We were excited to be camping again:
Mostly excited to toast marshmallows for smores!:
The next morning we went to
Twin Arches in Big South Fork Park:
Rachel had a piece of candy that turned her mouth blue and Elizabeth stole daddy's hat!
After a short hike we made it to the first arch:
Time to go to find the second arch.  We found a great bridge to cross:
After a lot more hiking we made it to the second arch:
After a long day of hiking we made our way back to the campground for some smores!

Our last day at the Big South Fork Park we went to
Angel Falls Rapids:
Rachel found a great hiking stick and we were ready to head to the trail:
We love to cross foot bridges:
We found a lot of cairns marking the trail!:
We made it to the river overlook:
 Two little angels:
It was a really hot day.  Time for a swim!:
Mommy did some fishing too and caught a few fish and we found a snake!
Time to go back to the campgrounds.
We found a snail and made a fun home for him.

The next day we went to the Ranger Station to get our Jr. Ranger Badges.
This was the hardest booklet we have ever had to complete to get our badges.  The very nice Ranger helped us finish:
We made our pledges:
We received our Jr. Ranger Badges and certificates:
Off to Cummins Falls State Park in Tennessee

To be continued . . .
