Fitness and Fun

WALK-A-THON
We had a Walk-A-Thon at school and mom volunteered to help out No walking for us we ran!

MORNING MILE:
Each morning we run at the school before school starts in the Morning Mile Program. Mom runs with us every day too.  At the beginning of January we were the top runners in the whole school!

By the end of January we both were awarded a pendent for completing 100 miles! We got to be on the morning news at school with the Principle Mrs. Neal:

First Elizabeth got her pendent:

The following week Rachel got hers:

5K RACE
As a family we all ran a 5K race sponsored by our church.  The race route actually came out to be quite a bit farther than a 5K but we all did great!

This was Rachel's first race and she finished the race with a time of 36.59!

Great job Rachel!!

This was Elizabeth's 2nd race and she smashed her previous pace last year of 12:08 min mile with a 9:34 min mile coming in at a time of 31:23.  Don't forget the race this time was actually longer than a 5k so she did awesome!

It was Mommy's 3rd 5K race and she improved her pace too going from a 9:31 pace last year (and the year before) to a 9:20 pace this year coming in at 30:39.

Daddy got 2nd place overall this year!  Although he came in first place last year, he improved his pace from last year's 6:47 min mile to a 6:43 min mile coming in at 22:05!

Our Barefoot Runner Daddy!!

SKATING AND CLIMBING
Skating is fun and great exercise:

We were invited to a birthday party and got to try rock climbing:
Elizabeth caught on really fast and made it to the top several times:

Rachel did her best too:

Even Mommy tried rock climbing for the first time:

FAMILY FUN HIKING
On a beautiful Saturday we headed to a local trail and enjoyed a little hike:

We planned our route:

The girls were ready to go!:

Climbing break:

The trail out to the prairie seemed a bit long:

We made it out to the observation deck:

There was a nice breeze on top of the deck:

We had a little rest and then headed back:

The nice shade of the wooded trail made for a great hike:

MOMMY BECAME A PERSONAL TRAINER:
Mom prepared for the test for a really long time. Elizabeth helped mommy by quizzing her from the practice test. The day arrived for the test and we wished her luck:

She passed her test!
