We enjoyed exploring the peninsula:

On the hike back up we were really getting tired so Daddy helped out:

Rachel's turn:

The drive to the tail head was a little scary with a very steep drop off on a narrow road:
We made it!
The views around us were spectacular!

Time to start off on the trail:

Off course we had to stop and play in the snow!
Snowball fight!

More spectacular views:

Eventually we had a great view of the lake we were hiking to!

We steadily made our way down:

Stopping briefly to enjoy the wildflowers:

In the morning our cousins joined us for a short hike out to a lake:

We got to see a herd of elk cross the lake while we were there:

Our cousins headed back home to Utah so were went off to explore the beach. Before heading to the water we checked out an interesting trail:

These Sitka spruce trees have large nodules in their trunks called burls and no one knows exactly why they formed!
Off to the beach:

We were surprised to see an aerial acrobat practicing her craft:

We decided to check out another beach area:

Here we got to do some fun rock climbing and sea some interesting sea creatures:

We found some cool sea anemones:

We also found a sea star!
It was very hazy weather but it was still a great day to play at the beach:

Off to another place to explore!
What does the sign say Rachel?:

Rachel didn't want to get her shoes wet (she decided not to bring her water shoes o the beach today) so daddy carried her across the water:

Lizzy wore her water shoes, but to avoid the chilly water she tried a different path:
Daddy even helped mommy over the water so she wouldn't get wet:

Today Grandpa and Grandma Beck joined us for a little while at Rialto Beach:

Look where Daddy is resting:

There were lots of logs for us to climb on:

Mom checked out a cool fort:

We crossed over some water with daddy to go to this huge rock:

On our way back down the beach we walked across a log barrier with stacks and stacks of large logs. Lizzy was in front of mommy. Suddenly mommy saw Lizzy fall between the logs! Because there were so many logs stacked on top of each other all around us it was hard to know how far she had fallen. Mom hurried to check on her. Lizzy was only a tiny bit scratched up and was easily helped up and out. We were so grateful she was not hurt!

Lizzy's turn:
After our river adventures we decided to stop at a local blueberry picking farm. We were hoping that the farm owners would accept American money or a credit card. When we arrived a lady drove up the same time we did and she heard our discussion about the money. She immediately gave us the money she was planning to use to buy blueberries, wished us a wonderful vacation in Canada, and drove off. WOW!
The farm owner was also very nice:
He even gave us a tour of the rest of his farm and we fed the chickens:
