Week Nine Day One Trail Adventure: Chacala Trail as well as the Lake Wauberg Boat Ramp, Boardwalk, and Amphitheater. ✴️Note: we saw a New World placental mammal (referenced google) for the first time. Can you guess what it is before you look at the pics?
Our first time on this trail:

Lizzy said this mushroom was as pretty as a flower:

I think so too:

Beautiful beginning to the trail!:

A new flower:

Not sure what it is called but they were everywhere:

We wanted to try and make it to the Chacala Pond. We saw a sign and got our hopes up:

These berries were pretty and plentiful as well:

Rachel had a school meeting. Once again we were able to get a signal:

Stopping to enjoy the wild flowers:

A pretty for a pretty:

The trail was exposed to the sun for the majority of the way. We made a little over 2 miles but decided we were not up for another 2.5 miles. So we finished the loop trail and took the end of trail pic. We were not quite done for the day, so we decided to explore a little more of Payne's Prairie Preserve State Park:

Lake, boat ramp, let's go!:

Nice cool water for a tiny bit of wading. Eyes 👀 open for snakes and gators!!:

It was beautiful!:

We decided to go see the boardwalk. Such a pretty path!!:

The boardwalk is very well maintained!:

Lizzy was happy to be near the water yet safe on the boardwalk:

And two baby alligators!:

For our final stop we headed to the amphitheater:

What a great place to relax. This was a very nice day of adventure:
