Week Four Day Six Trail Adventure (Bonus Saturday Adventure with Sullivan): Gum Root Park - side trail.
We have been to this trailhead before (Gum Root Park) but we tried a side trail we haven't taken previously:
Florida swamps are always a good place to check out:
Dad explored the swamp land. We kept our distance just in case:

A bone! No idea what animal this came from!
Luna
was proud of herself for finding the bone (she wasn't actually
interested in it, just found it and showed it to us). She loves to
"track" on trails.
Meanwhile we tracked some yummy Blackberries
Another successful blackberry tracker
Balance beam detour
We came to the end of the side trail (or another beginning of the trail)
Dad felt something crawling in his pant leg. He shook this little guy out
Rachel actually made a "working" bow!
This
path off the main trail loop (we took previously) was flooded and
pretty much impassable the last time we came to Gum Root Trail. We were
able to make our way around it this time so we could take this trail.
"Shhh. Be vewy vewy quiet, I'm hunting. . ."
Successful 2 mile hike with the entire family
