Week Five Day Four Trail Adventure: Osceola Trail and Osceola Forest Florida Trail (starting at the Olustee Battlefield).
This is our second trip to the Osceola Forest trying to find the Osceola Trail. The GPS says "you've arrived" in the middle of a road. We drove up a ways and found this trail.

It lead to this awesome pond!
So pretty!

These yellow flowers were popping up out of the water.

And then there were these. . .

And also this . . .
This little 🕷️ guy was watching us 👀.

The trail ended so we headed back out. Rachel had a phone-in school meeting. We were happy to have cell phone signal:
I
brought a second trail option so we went here next. This is our first
time at the Olustee Battlefield to Osceola Forest via the Florida Trail.
A "cold" front came in with the storms yesterday and Lizzy was feeling
it

The battlefield park was closed, but the Florida Trail was open. Lizzy brought a blanket with her!

Interesting plants.
We
went partway down the Florida Trail but it was flooded. We decided to
head down the road that paralleled the trail. The blanket Lizzy was
wearing became "a cape" and she flew ahead of us on the road.
We were able to rejoin the Florida Trail!
Rest break:

Butterflies make everything better!
The trail was flooded again so we headed back to the road.

Lizzy decided to set up a picnic.
At
the end of the hike I asked the girls to show, with their expressions,
how the hike was today. This is what I got. Lizzy took a nap on the way
home
