Week Four Day Three Trail Adventure: Osceola National Forest - The Florida Trail.
Although we were unsuccessful in finding the planned Oseola trail we did find the Florida National Scenic Trail. We decided to give it a go:

Our first time on this trail. I had not done my usual preparations of research for this trail (because I wasn't able to locate the Osceola Trail). Therefore, I took extra precautions by engaging my GPS location on my Garmin. The girls also were being tracked by their father who was working from home and able to see where we were. Although we were pretty much out in the forest, we were close to the interstate and had cell service the entire time!

Out here along The Florida Trail we crossed a couple of roads.

This was our favorite portion of the hike although we didn't find any signs of life.
Crossing
another road. Lizzy has her "spiderweb stick" used to wave in front of
you along the trail. Otherwise we get a face full of web (especially the
leader of the pack).
Usually these are more green.
We went through quite a few spider webs along the trail. This guy had an interesting web center.
A section of the trail had ferns. I realize ferns are common, but they make me happy:
We saw several of these along the way. No idea what they are but they looked and felt rather interesting.

Double pretty: flowers and a butterfly!

We came to a flooded out portion of the trail with no "real" way around (not worth going through since we were less than a quarter mile from our turn around point). The girls were not disappointed in the least:

However, Luna wanted to keep going!
Rachel found this leaf that was wound up. Inside there were tiny eggs.
Rachel had a school Zoom meeting so we stopped for rest, refueling, and school.
This bird was calling out repeatedly and sounded a bit like a baby crying. No idea what kind of bird.
Our last (and favorite) portion of the return hike.
Sweet little flowers make me smile:

Rachel was still on her class meeting and was able to show and tell a bit about our hike!
We made it back to the car! Sleepy 👩, Happy 🐕, and weary 👱♀️. Successful 3 mile hiking adventure!
A successful adventure!
