Week Four Day Two Trail Adventure: Sante Fe River Preserve - North Gate Blue Trail:
This
trail is about a mile past a hike we did previously in the Sante Fe
Preserve (Gracie Trail). This loop trail is about 2 miles and one side
(left side) of the loop goes along the Sante Fe River.

This was our first time on this trail.

We decided on a shorter trail today so everyone was happy and ready to explore.

Lizzy decided to pick up trash along the way. Great idea!
There were lots of these on the right side of the loop.
A pine cone almost as big as her head! . . .Not that she has a big head.
Pretty along the way!

Sante Fe River!

Fun to explore but keeping an eye out for water snakes 🐍and gators 🐊.
We did find several shells along the banks. Including this empty snail shell.

There were several shells like this one.

Beautiful!!
Rachel really liked this spot.
A great place to relax:

Heading out because Rachel had a class meeting online and we were out of cell phone range.
Lizzy collected quite a bit of trash. Great job Lizzy

Everyone
was happy and we look forward to coming back to this easy and well
marked trail. Although we may just go left on the loop and explore more
of the river.
Another fun adventure!
