Happy 11th Birthday Rachel! Week Six Day Two Adventure

April 21, 2020

Happy Birthday Rachel!

Although we had to celebrate a little differently this year (because of the pandemic) we still were excited to celebrate Rachel's 11th Birthday!

A special breakfast for the birthday girl:

Can I eat now!?

Mom surprised Rachel with these signs:
As the neighbors drove by she got a lot of Happy Birthday wishes:
And plenty of honks!

She had a class meeting and they sang Happy Birthday to her:

Mom continued to decorate:

Week Six Day Two Adventure: today is Rachel's birthday and she requested not to hike today, so we went here: Lake Alto Park

This is our first time here. There is a boat ramp to the side of us with this narrow strip of land that leads to the lake.

There were a few people launching boats, but no one here on this side!

The boat launch side of the park was nice, but...

The lake was beautiful!

There were a lot of minnows swimming around near the shore. Image may contain: one or more people, ocean, outdoor, water and nature

The girls were able to catch them in their hands.

Oh how I love butterflies:

They used there lunch trays to catch the minnows (catch and release of course!).

The minnows enjoyed a few french fries leftover from their lunch 😋. There are two hiking trailheads located right at this park so we will be back to do the hikes and enjoy the refreshing lake!

We had a great time, but people started to come to the little beach area so we decided to go get some lunch. Rachel decided on Wendy's (restaurant) for lunch.

Later that afternoon the Araque family stopped by for a visit!

Luna wanted to help ope the present:
Hoodie!!
Social distancing (COVID)
It fits great!
It is so nice to have awesome friends!

The Lewis' came over too and had a social distancing plan for delivering the gift:

They are awesome friends and neighbors!

Rachel requested Pizza for dinner then we opened cards and gifts:

A card from Grandpa Ed and Grandma Joyce and all the dogs too!

Wow! This is a GREAT gift!

Lizzy made a card and we all pitched in together for the gifts:

She sure does like the Hunger Games!

Computer mouse pad (Peeta and Katniss of course!).
What's this, there's more to come?!
This book (the 4th Hunger Games book) isn't even out yet, but it should be here soon (along with a Hunger Games lunch box).
Rachel wanted cheesecake cake for dessert:
Make a wish!
It must have been a good wish, or she was just super excited to eat cheesecake!
Yum!
We hope you had a super-awesome birthday Rachel! We love you so much!
