Week Six Day One Trail Adventure: Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway - Baseline Road to Marshall Swamp Trail/Florida Trail -(Pecan Course Circle Trailhead).
This is our first time here. I chose a paved path that was more open and exposed because the morning was very stormy and rainy. However, by the time we made it here the sun was out and it was already hot!

I suspect it's too hot and late in the day for bears to be much of a threat, but we will keep our eyes and ears open just in case.

We spent time on both the paved trail and on the Florida Trail throughout the hike. The two trails interested several times.
We took a small side trail that lead to another Trailhead.

Did I mention it was hot! Lizzy decided to pour a little bit of her water on her head to cool off:

Lots of flowering cacti along the trails.
Lizzy got one too.
Rachel found two more!
We found quite a few nicely painted rocks along the way. We decided to re-hide them in different spots.

Rachel spotted this very large beautiful hawk!
Blackberries are in season:
There were lots of pretty butterflies.

We ended the hike on a short portion of the Florida Trail.

Beautiful oaks along the way

As usual, I asked them to show how the hike was for the final pic. Hmm no eye contact. We went a total of 4 miles on a bright, sunshiny, hot, Florida day.
